Interpolation sural flap in acute trauma patients
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objectives: Distal lower leg wounds, regardless of cause, and acute trauma site, are difficult. Reconstruction both situations much more challenging. Interpolation sural flap is a good alternative for this type reconstruction. Methods: Fourteen interpolation were harvested to reconstruct distal region wounds due trauma. Ten male four female patients aged from 10 59 years old included study. Results: All flaps survived. No venous congestion total necrosis was seen. There 4 complications, all them corrected with short interventions. After second stage, no complication Conclusions: modification has many advantages including reliability, congestion, immediate reconstruction without surgical team. However, it two-staged its donor site scarring can be serious.

Distally based sural artery flap without sural nerve.
The distal third of the tibia, ankle and heel area is difficult to reconstruct. For small to medium size defects, local flaps are often an easier alternative than free flap. In lower limb surgery, the sural flap is based on this principle and this flap is becoming increasingly popular. متن کاملSural nerve preservation in reverse sural artery fasciocutaneous flap-a case report
UNLABELLED BACKGROUND The reverse sural artery flap is a generally accepted means of soft tissue reconstruction for defects of the distal third of the legs. The routine sacrifice of the sural nerve with its consequential temporary loss of sensation on the lateral aspect of the foot can be of concern to early rehabilitation of some patients. METHOD This is a case report of a 24 years old ma...

متن کاملHow Much Can We do by Reverse Superficial Sural Artery Flap to Potentiate Its Effects: Introducing Spout Sural Flap as a New Modification
BACKGROUND Due to shortage of local donor tissue and unreliable blood supply, free flaps were the mainstay of treatment for tissue defects in the lower leg and foot region, but it requires a qualified microvascular surgeon. Recently, attention has been paid to reverse superficial sural artery flap (RSSAF) and its modifications as a good alternative to pave the way to simple and friendly techni...
متن کاملThe use of a reverse flow sural fasciocutaneous flap in a patient with multiple trauma: a case report.
Provision of soft-tissue coverage for defects in the distal leg and foot is a challenge, especially in patients with multiple injuries and major soft-tissue defects. Major flap reconstruction requires expertise and the results are variable, with high morbidity. We report a case in which a reverse flow sural fasciocutaneous flap was used for treatment of an open fracture-dislocation of the right...
